According to the CEO of Timberland CO. responding to a well written and informed letter from Greenpeace a potent activist organization from Brazil is very important and must be responded to imediately. Timberland Company takes it very seriously when being allegedly accused of not taking envirionment issues as not being an important business factor. Timberland Company addressed the issue by informing the Brazilian activist that only 7% of Timberlands leather comes from Brazil. Timberland Company's CEO found the right tone and the right time to accompany and answer all questions that were asked while also valueing what the Greenpeace activist had mentioned in their concerns with Timberlands deforesting and cattle being slaughtered. Timberlands company does value communication in international and intercultural situations when it comes to its consumers and company branding.

Timberland company website and international website

Timberland Company has a main site that is worded in the English language under Timberland.com /US and on this site there is a timberland heritage page. On the heritage page you have several options available, the main menu- homepage- shop- and under the shop tab its separated into sub tabs such as Men’s, Women’s, and Children’s selections and then the store locator is to the father right hand side. The US Timberland page does not have a one international separate page but it does have a tool that has 12 other countries of choice to view the Timberland Company business in their language. Out of 12 countries I choose the China site which is Timberland.com.cn this site is very much like the original site, has bright colors some of the same pictures. The China site has fewer tabs to focus on than the US Timberland site. Timberland US site has 6 huge full picture slideshow on its homepage. While China slideshow is very small while rotating like in a vertical motion.

Timberland Reboots in Boston

Timberland Reboots in Boston

Some 12 years after shuttering its Boston store, The Timberland Co. is back in business on Newbury Street, with a smaller footprint, sleeker look and tighter point of view. The company is redirecting its focus to its origins, emphasizing its signature boots and outdoor gear.
The 2,500-sq.-ft. space is designed to reflect Timberland's longstanding commitment to sustainability. The eco-friendly build-out features include the use of re-claimed wood and other materials, FSC woods and "Ecotech" recycled stoneware floor tiles. (Ecotech, from Floor Gres, is a porcelain tile that is made with 100% recycled material.)
The tabletops were reclaimed from athletic bleachers, and the plumbing fixtures are designed to converse water. Energy-efficient LED lighting helps light the store.
The store has a strong local and authentic feel. An original 25-ft. by 4-ft. mural on the back wall celebrates Boston neighborhoods, as well as popular "green spaces" throughout the area. Sports facts regarding Boston's beloved home teams are integrated into the space -- jersey numbers, for example, of such legendary players as Larry Bird and Tom Brady are etched into the ceiling rafters.
Timberland is looking to expand its retail presence. The company is planning new stores in key U.S. markets, including San Francisco and New York.
